This is a Raku fired bisque skull that stands about 3 1/2 inches high. The bisque skull is fired outdoors and reduced in a bed of paper to create some really colorful metallic areas. There is a large amount of copper in this glaze and the firing process really makes that copper come alive.
Notes about raku: These pieces are fragile from thermal shock. To clean, wipe gently with a wet cloth, no scribbing, no course products or brilliant pads. This piece is for display only.
